The aim of this article is to assess whether, just as Walt Disney is a simulacrum of fantasy that incites adults' childish pleasures, Sedat Peker is a simulacrum of a hero who mobilizes adults' sensitivities for rights and justice. Firstly, the conceptual framework is presented within Baudrillard's theory of simulation and hyperreality. This conceptual framework is linked to the transforming understanding of the public sphere through online communication channels and social media platforms, and the role of the "new" public sphere in the production of simulation and hyperreality is discussed. Secondly, a theoretical connection is established between Disneyland, which Baudrillard uses as a metaphor for simulation, and the exposé videos published on YouTube by Sedat Peker, the alleged leader of an organized crime organization. Thirdly, 10 exposé videos published on Peker's personal YouTube channel following the operation targeting him on April 9, 2021, are examined. The article is limited to the video series, which Peker initially planned to release as a 13-episode series but was ultimately reduced to 10 episodes due to deportation and digital isolation sanctions. During the analysis process, the top 100 most-liked comments made by other users on each video were examined, and it was discussed whether Peker had become a simulacrum of a hero in the eyes of the platform's users. Based on the findings, it is possible to argue that there is a clear causal link between the videos of Sedat Peker, a prominent underworld figure, and the videos depicting him as a simulacrum.
