Abstract
This study aims to systematically analyze academic theses and articles in Turkey that focus on developmental assessment tools for children aged 0–3. Turkish-language and Turkey-based studies published between 2000 and 2025 were reviewed according to predetermined inclusion criteria. A total of 74 studies were analyzed based on publication type, methodological approach, sample characteristics, assessment tools used, and disciplinary context. Findings indicate that Denver II, AGTE, Bayley, and ASQ are the most commonly used tools and that most studies are concentrated in the fields of health and education. While quantitative methods dominate, qualitative and mixed methods are used less frequently. Furthermore, there is a lack of research addressing outcomes related to early intervention and a noticeable gap in culturally adapted assessment tools. These findings suggest that although the developmental assessment culture for early childhood in Turkey is still limited, it is evolving.
