Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the determinants of intention to use and usage satisfaction as a mediator based on an extended UTAUT2 model in the case of online food delivery platforms, i.e., Yemeksepeti, in Türkiye. Combining post-adoption and continuance views, the study constructs the model of continuance intention by including performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, price value, habit, trust, and online ranking & review as predictors of behavioral intention and usage satisfaction as an intervening variable. The data were gathered from users of a major online food delivery service and analyzed through structural equation modeling. Results show that performance expectancy, trust and online ranking & review have significant positive impact on behavioral intention; while the influence of effort expectancy, facilitating conditions, price value and habit are not significant. Social influence has a positive and significant, but negative, effect on behavioral intention. Intention to use is a strong predictor of usage satisfaction. Mediation analysis further reveals that usage satisfaction mediates the effects of performance expectancy, trust, online ranking & review, and social influence on behavioral intention. The results suggest a contextual substitution of UTAUT2 relations in the context of established digital platforms.
