Abstract
Customer-based corporate reputation is the customer’s overall evaluation of a company based on past experiences, expectations, and perceived corporate behavior. While the international literature has extensively examined the impact of this concept on customer loyalty, trust, and satisfaction, limited studies have been conducted nationally and in sports sciences. Sports services are one of the service areas with intense interaction, and measuring the concept of customer-based corporate reputation is crucial The purpose of this study is to test the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the five-factor, 28-item Customer-Based Corporate Reputation Scale, which measures corporate reputation based on customer perceptions in the service sector. The study sample consisted of 229 individuals. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) yielded a three-factor structure, which explained 76.35% of the total variance. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) supported the model’s construct validity (χ²/df = 3.95, CFI = 0.94, GFI = 0.91, SRMR = 0.065, RMSEA = 0.096). Cronbach’s alpha coefficients (α = 0.87–0.96) revealed that the scale and its subdimensions had high internal consistency. Consequently, it can be said that the Turkish form of the scale is a valid and reliable tool for determining customer-based corporate reputation levels in fitness centers.
