Abstract
Gender equality is a fundamental aspect of social development, yet disparities persist despite significant progress made by the European Union over recent decades. This project output report presents the development, implementation, and key outcomes of the Erasmus+ Sport Without Stereotypes (SWOST) project. The project aimed to foster equal access and participation in sport for both women and men at all levels, with a particular focus on combating gender-based stereotypes, especially among young people (ages 10–18). Running from January 2021 to December 2023, the project produced six key outcomes: an online assessment tool, a best practices database, a Quality Label guideline, a memorandum of understanding for tool testing, a data collection on testing activities, and a scientific article published in an international journal. The SWOST assessment tool was designed to help sport associations evaluate how gender stereotypes influence their practices and policies. Through widespread adoption, this tool enables sports clubs to assess and improve their efforts to address gender stereotyping, thus contributing to more inclusive sporting environments.
