Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the exercise habits, nutritional profiles, and well-being status of women who attend beauty salons. Nutrition and behavior change stage questionnaires completed by a total of 240 women were evaluated. One-way ANOVA and Bonferroni post hoc tests were used for statistical analyses. A statistically significant difference was found in the nutritional well-being scores of women attending beauty salons according to age and body mass index (BMI) categories (p<0.001). In addition, statistically significant relationships were observed between nutritional status and well-being scores based on marital status and menstrual regularity (p<0.001). According to the stages of behavior change, differences in both nutritional scores and psychological well-being scores were found to be statistically significant (p<0.05). Furthermore, behavior change stages were negatively correlated with nutritional scores (p<0.05) and positively correlated with psychological well-being (p<0.001). The findings indicate that the nutritional habits and well-being levels of women attending beauty salons vary according to age, BMI category, marital status, menstrual regularity, and stages of behavior change. As behavior change stages progress, nutritional scores tend to decrease, while psychological well-being levels increase. Women attending beauty salons may be informed that increasing regular exercise habits can improve physical fitness, nutritional status, and overall well-being. Providing nutritional counseling services for women attending gyms and beauty centers may be beneficial. Additionally, women are encouraged to attend beauty salons as feasible, engage in regular exercise, and monitor their dietary habits to enhance physical appearance, nutritional health, and psychological well-being.
