Investigation of factors affecting talent development in individuals who get sportive education

Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the factors that affect the ability development of individuals in the stage of sportive development. The population of the study consists of athletes between the ages of 13-18, continuing their active sports life and working with a trainer for at least one year. A total of 746 athletes, 554 men and 192 women, participated in the study. The “Sports Talent Development Environment Scale” was used to evaluate the factors affecting the talent development environment. As a result of the data obtained in the study, it has been determined that there are differences in the skill development attitudes of the athletes with different training frequency, the athletes in different branches and the duration of the branch. However, it was observed that there was no significant difference in ability development attitudes according to gender, daily training hours and age groups. According to the results obtained, it has been determined that those who train 1-2 days a week feel more positive about talent development than those who train 3-4 days a week, and that the impact of individuals in different branches on talent development can make a difference.
