Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the factors affecting the Financial Satisfaction and the Life Satisfaction. In that study, participants of this study consisted of 576 persons over 45 years old in Çankaya, Ankara, Turkey. The sample size of 576 students was determined using a random sampling method in this area. In this research ‘Financial Satisfaction Scale’ (Hira ve Mugenda, 1998) and ‘Life Satisfaction Scale’ (Diener, Emmons, Larsen ve Griffin, 1985) used as well as the socio-economic data such as age, gender, level of education, level of monthly income, state of being satisfied with the level of income, and number of family members and children. It is seen that the mean score of satisfaction of life of the participants in the survey (18,96 ± 7,31) is moderate. And it is seen that the average of the financial satisfaction points of the survey participants (18,53 ± 5,55) is slightly higher than the middle level. Also, life satisfaction in persons over 45 years old as a result of the study were significantly correlated with the financial satisfaction (Pearson Correlation: 0,546; p<0.01).
