This study examines the financialization of agricultural commodity trade and the role of licensed warehousing, electronic warehouse receipts, agricultural commodity prices, and energy prices in the digital transformation process using bibliometric analysis. Additionally, an in-depth literature review was conducted on the most cited studies in the field. A total of 503 academic studies published between 1980 and 2024 were analysed using VOSviewer and Biblioshiny applications. The findings indicate that academic interest in licensed warehousing and the agricultural sector has increased, with an annual average growth rate of 8.27% in related research. The co-occurrence network of keywords reveals that food security, agricultural commodities, price discovery, energy markets, and futures trading are prominent themes in agricultural commodity management research. The increasing role of licensed warehousing systems and commodity certificates in financial markets enhances market transparency while also influencing market dynamics. Studies examining the impact of international energy prices, oil prices, and exchange rate fluctuations on agricultural commodity prices were also reviewed within this framework. This study serves as a strategic roadmap for future research, particularly for scholars examining licensed warehousing systems and price dynamics in agricultural markets. The study’s findings offer valuable insights into the development of agricultural commodity markets, financial integration processes, and new regulatory frameworks for policymakers.
