Abstract

All in all the perıod of medıeval; It covers a dark time period of about 1 000 years between the fall of the 476 West Roman Empire and the Fethiye dates of 1453 Istanbul. Renaissance is a word used to describe the transition from the Middle Ages to the modern world. Renaissance is a revolution in architecture, in painting and in sculpture and Renaissance was fluenced by the efforts of the ancient monuments to heal. The aim of this study, the determine perception of body and sport in European society during the Middle Ages and Renaissance period. In this study, a screening method was used. Therefore, relevant written in Turkish and English article, books and theses have been reached in different librarians and electronic media, and the most relevant ones have been selected and used in the study. At the end of the study, In the Middle Ages it was determined that body and sport were cursed and sinful in the western society. Besides, In the Renaissance period, it was determined that positive developments in body sensibility and sport perception in western society.
