Abstract

We identified turkish national traditions before islam in Kutadgu Bilig, yusuf has hacib’s valuable work which illuminates the eras and a priceless work for turkish cultural history. In this study, we see that turkish national traditions were more important than the ruler and it is often emphasized that both the ruler and the people had to obey the traditions.Kutadgu Bilig can be accepted as a reflection of Turkish traditions on State management. Also, Kutadgu Bilig mentions the traiditons about public strongly and tells some illustrations about them.for example, hospitality, food for dead people, the right of salt and bread.
