The aim of this study is to investigate the validity and reliability of Turkish version of the Index of Autonomous Functioning. The sample of this study consisted of 171 teacher. The results of CFA demonstrated that the three-dimensional model (authorship/self-congruence, interest-taking, and low susceptibility to control) was well fit (x²= 154,55, df= 84, RMSEA= .070, CFI= .91, IFI= .91, RFI= .79, RMR= .073, and SRMR= .082). Factor loadings ranged from .36 to .86. The internal consistency reliability coefficients of the subscales were .79, .76, .83 respectively and .72 for overall scale. The corrected item-total correlations ranged between .42 and .70.
