Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to develop the "Attitude Scale for Deciphering in Musical Education" to determine the students' attitudes towards deciphering music education students, and to prove the validity and reliability of this scale. Furthermore, based on the psychometric findings of the scale, the attitudes of music education students to decipher the instrumental education in terms of gender and class variables were examined. The data of the study were collected from 270 students who were educated in the branches of Music Education. According to the findings of exploratory factor analysis of the scale, it is seen that it has a structure composed of 4 dimensions. According to the Cronbach Alpha analysis, reliability of the scale varies between .83 and .88 in all subscales. Finally, music education students' attitudes towards deciphering in instrumental education differ according to gender and class level.
