Education is one of the most important elements in a country’s development and progress. The responsibility for the quality of this education does not solely lie with students, parents, or teachers. This responsibility also extends to educational institutions that have an impact on this process, regulate it, and coordinate it. The advancement of a society is directly related to individuals receiving quality education. In this study, information systems and technologies departments in higher education institutions in Turkiye were investigated, aiming to guide students in prioritizing which university to choose when selecting these departments. In this context, various criteria of universities for these departments were specified, these criteria were evaluated by experts using the SWARA method, and finally, the universities were ranked using the COBRA method. As a result of the research, it was determined that the most important criterion was the base score of the last person placed. In the ranking of universities with information systems and technologies departments, the top three universities were “Eskişehir Technical University,” “Sakarya University,” and “Ihsan Doğramacı Bilkent University (with Scholarship).” This result can serve as a guide for prospective students in choosing information systems and technologies departments.
