DETERMINATION OF LOGISTICS RESOURCES WHICH AFFECT THE LOGISTICS ACTIVITIES: CHAIN AND GROUP HOTELS CASE

Abstract

In this study, the logistics activities and logistics resources which are affected on the logistics activities were tried to determine in hotels as a service business. In this research oriented sampling method was utilized to determine the sample and the first 25 chain and group hotels which operate in Turkey were chosen as a sample. Survey method was used as a data collection method. Factor analyses were employed to understand factor structures of logistics activities and logistics sources. As a result logistics recourse were collected under four factor groups. The impact of each factor groups on the logistics activities were searched and the operational resources which consist of warehouse, warehouse devices, supplier relationships, teams, fast delivery and logistics coordination have the most impact on the logistics activities was found. As a result, the logistics activities that are processed in manufacturing companies also are processed in hotels. However hotels should have especially operational resources, human resources and technological resources to use the logistics as a competition tool and process logistics activities without having any interruptions.
