Abstract

This study aims to develop an educational material in an online environment and to get the opinions of students regarding this material based on the units of “Human and Environment” and “The Sun and Space” in the seventh grade Science and Technology Course. In this context, “animated cartoons” were designed as online educational materials in consideration of the acquirements in both units. Courses were taught with animated cartoons in an online environment for two months. Afterwards, the students were asked to evaluate the animated cartoons. Results indicate that the students think more comprehensively, interpret the given messages and establish a link with the topic. It was seen that the students were surprised as they had not seen animated cartoons before in lessons as educational materials.
