Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationships between university students’ attachment styles and decision making strategies. Gender, age, grade and parenting styles differences were also searched in this context. For this purpose 504 (241 females; 263 males) students were randomly recruited from Mugla University Faculty of Education’s various departments. To collect data, Information Form, Relationship Scales Questionnaire, and Decision Strategies Scale was used. SPSS for WINDOWS was used for data analyses, the group differences were tested by t-test and F statistics, correlational statistics was also employed to search for relationships between decision making strategies and attachment styles. The findings showed that there is a difference between the gender and parenting styles according to the scores that they got from the subdimensions of attachment styles “secure attachment” and “fearful attachment”; the gender and parenting styles according to the scores of the university students that they got from the subdimensions of decision strategies “independent decision making”, age and parenting styles according to the scores that they got from “logical decision making” and “indecision”. The results are discussed in the light of previous findings and in the context of attachment styles and decision making strategies providing a guide for future research and applications as well. debates on abortion site nyc abortion clinics
