EXAMINING THE PERCEIVED SOCIAL SUPPORT LEVELS OF THE STUDENTS STUDYING IN SPORTS HIGH SCHOOL

In the current study; It is aimed to determine the level of "perceived social support" perceptions of students studying in sports high schools and whether there are differences in terms of the determined variables. For this purpose, a total of 184 sports high school students, 71 (38.6%) female and 113 (60.4%) male continuing their education in Trabzon sports high school in the 2016-2017 academic year, constitute the study group of the research. In order to provide data for the research; "Personal Information Form", "Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS)" were used. Results; It was obtained by evaluating the results of “descriptive statistics, t-test for independent groups, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA)” test. In line with the result obtained by the evaluation of the data, it was seen that the sports high school students have perceptions of social support above the medium level. In addition, when the result obtained from the independent variables is examined, a significant difference was found in the social support perception levels of sports high school students according to "gender, sports status (licensed/unlicensed)"; No significant difference was found according to the variables of "sport branch (team/individual), class level, socioeconomic status of the family".
