Abstract

This study aims to compare the static and dynamic balance performances of elite judo and wrestlers. 28 wrestling and 25 elite judokas participated in the study. Static and dynamic balance performances of the participants were measured using the ProkinTecno Body isokinetic balance measurement device. Static balance test was carried out in a standing position on two legs on a fixed platform with eyes open. In the bipedal test, the optimum position was determined to keep the feet shoulder-width apart, the lines on the X and Y-axis of the platform as a reference, at an equal distance to the origin point. In dominant and non-dominant balance measurements, the foot to be measured is placed in the middle of the balance platform, and the other foot is lifted with the knee bent. The same procedure was applied in the closed eyes balance test, allowing the participants to close their eyes. In the dynamic balance test, the pressure level of the platform was reduced, the athletes followed the circular route on the screen and rotated 5 rounds within 60 seconds. T-test was used to compare the groups. As a result of the analysis, no difference was found in the balance performances of elite judo and wrestlers (p> 0.05). Depending on the elite level of judo and wrestler of the participants, it can be thought that their motor skills develop at a high level and this situation affects the balance performance. It can be said that the performance is at a high level in elite athletes and the factors that reveal balance performance are positively affected by this situation.
